The aim of this study is to present an experience in which Problem Based Learning has been used as a didactic strategy in the teaching of Oral Pathology. The participants were ten third-year students of Dentistry at the University of Costa Rica, enrolled in the course on Principles of Diagnostic Sciences, a tutor and an external observer. This methodology is presented and the results obtained during the experience.
