The intention of this study was to determine if the mental role has incidence
in the sport yield. The subjects (n=14, X=16.57 ± 1,83 years) whose order was assigned
randomly participated in three sessions in different days. The sessions they ingested the caffeine
tablet of 300 mg, placebo without anything. The statistical analysis consisted of eight anovas of
repeated measures, one for each measured variable, which were: resistance, speed, anxiety,
depression, hostility, stamina, fatigue, confusion. In the end, the results revealed that in the mile
test (1609 ms), there were statistically significant differences between the use of placebo and
without the use of anything (p=0.004) and between caffeine and nothing (p=0.058). In the speed,
trials there were no significant differences between the 3 treatments. Whereas in POMS, only in
stamina and fatigue were significant differences. In stamina significant differences were found
between placebo and caffeine (p=0.019) and placebo and nothing (p=0.002). Whereas fatigue
showed differences between placebo and caffeine (p=0.014) and placebo and nothing (p=0.005).
