Evaluación del prendimiento y desarrollo de dos tipos de injerto en tres cultivares de mango (Mangifera indica)

Abstract

En la Estación Experimental Fabio Baudrit M., Alajuela., Costa Rica, se probaron dos tipos de injerto (enchape lateral y yema en parche) en tres cultivares de mango (Tommy Atkins, Haden, Irwin), para evaluar el prendimiento y desarrollo del brote. Se seleccionaron patrones del cultivar Jamaica sin deformaciones sembrados en bolsas de polietileno negro. El injerto enchape lateral dio el mayor prendimiento de injerto en los cultivares evaluados (93,75%). El cultivar Irwin con injerto de yema en parche no tuvo diferencias en el prendimiento respecto a los otros cultivares evaluados como el injerto de enchape lateral; no obstante la brotación fue deficiente, por lo que no se pudo evaluar su desarrollo. El injerto de enchape lateral tuvo una tasa de crecimiento del brote del injerta de 0,1104 cm/día,, con una longitud de injerto de 3,42 cm y 6,56 cm, a los 42 y 70 días después de la injertación respectivamente. Se obtuvo un efecto lineal positivo de la longitud del injerto respecto al tiempo en el periodo experimental.

Evaluation of taking percentage and bud growth of two graft types on three cultivars of mango (Mangifera indica). Two types of, grafts (bud graft and patch graft) on three commercial cultivars of mango (Tommy Atkins; Haden and Irwin) were tested to determine the taking percentage and bud growth in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The rootstocks were selected from the 'Jamaica' cultivar without deformations and planted in soil filled black plastic bags. It was shown that the bud graft gave the higher taking percentage in all the evaluated cultivars (93-75%). The Irwin cultivar, with the patch graft had no difference in taking percentage with respect to the other evaluated cultivars with the bud graft; however, the budding was defficient, that is why its growth was not evaluated. The bud graft showed a bud growing rate of 0.1104 cm/day between 42 and 70 days after grafting. The length of the grafted bud was 3.42 cm and 6.56 cm at 42 and 70 days after grafting, respectively. The length of the graft bud showed a positive lineal effectwith respect to the time, throughout the experimental period.
