Primer informe de Scirtothrips saturherminii González, Retana-Salazar & Castillo 2010 en América continental e informe de la ubicación del Holotipo (Thysanoptera: Thripidae).

Abstract

En este trabajo se informa de la presencia de Scirtothrips saturherminii González, Retana-Salazar & Castillo 2010 en Costa Rica. Esta especie se conoce solo del holotipo recolectado en Cuba el cual se halla depositado en la Colección de Thysanoptera de la Universidad Agraria de la Habana. Este hallazgo permite analizar la variabilidad de algunos caracteres de la especie y la descripción del macho el cual era desconocido. Es la primera vez que se recolecta esta especie fuera de Cuba y la primera vez que se encuentra en tierras continentales.

In this work is recorded the species Scirtothrips saturherminii González, RetanaSalazar & Castillo 2010 in Costa Rica. This species is known only from the holotype collected in Cuba and which is deposited in the Collection of Thysanoptera of the Agrarian University of Havana. This finding allows us to analyze the variability of some characters of the species and description of the male which was unknown. It is the first time that this species is collected outside Cuba and the first time in mainland.
