Abstract
El presente informe corresponde al estudio del pulimiento acelerado de los agregados en la capa de rozamiento de los pavimentos, debido a que se reduce la capacidad de romper la película de agua que queda sobre la superficie y se disminuye fuertemente la capacidad de adherencia que ofrece la superficie de ruedo. Se consideran tres variables que determinan la oferta de seguridad de un pavimento: textura, resistencia al deslizamiento y fricción. Además, para valorar este aspecto y definir el grado de pulimiento que tienen diferentes tipos de agregados, se utilizará el ensayo de “Pulimiento acelerado del agregado” para determinar luego el coeficiente de pulimiento acelerado (CPA) utilizando un péndulo de fricción.
The following report studies the accelerate polishing of aggregates in the pavement surface, due to the reduction of its capacity to break the water film that stays on the pavement surface and strongly decreases its adherence capacity. Three variables that determine the safety offer of a pavement are considered: texture, slip resistance and friction. Additionally, to study this aspect and define the polishing level that different types of aggregates have, the “Accelerate Polishing of Aggregate” test will be performed to obtain later on the polished stone value (PSV) using a friction pendulum.
