Abstract
The Eurocentric discourse, along with the notion of race under a dis-rational logic, enabled a power dynamic that classified people into superior and inferior individuals, which significantly contributed to a history of dependency and subordination in Latin America. The discourse about the alleged notion of race transmitted by the colonial process as a scientific cognitive construct hindered the possibility of visualizing other situations beyond simple economistic models. This proves the importance of using hermeneutics as a fundamental methodological instrument, which, due to its exploratory nature, allows to follow a problem-posing approach in order to examine the dependent and subordinated condition of Latin America from another cognitive perspective. This condition is a result of learned discursiveness, which has impacted the region historically.
