En el presente trabajo el autor argumenta a favor de la necesidad de la introducción del álgebra moderna en los programas de estudio de matemática para la enseñanza secundaria, destacando su importancia pedagógica y el aspecto social implícito en dicha iniciativa. Las nuevas conquistas de esta importante área del conocimiento humano son fundamentales para que el país logre superar la barrera de su subdesarrollo cultural y económico.
In this paper the author argues for the need for the introduction of modern algebra in the mathematics curricula for secondary education, highlighting its pedagogical importance and social aspects implicit in the initiative.
