En este artículo se presentan los resultados que se obtuvieron con la aplicación de laPrueba de Habilidades Cuantitativas durante el primer semestre del 2010, a 206 estudiantesde primer ingreso de la Universidad de Costa Rica (ucr), matriculados en las carreras deFísica, Estadística y Matemática. En el análisis se procedió a comparar los promedios obtenidosen la Prueba de Habilidades Cuantitativas con los resultados obtenidos en la Pruebade Aptitud Académica, así como, el rendimiento académico obtenido en los cursos introductoriosy del tercer ciclo de esas carreras. Para esto se utilizó la técnica estadística delAnálisis de Variancia (anova) y la prueba de comparaciones múltiples de Tuckey.

In this analysis themeans obtained from the Quantitative Skills Test were compared with the results from theAcademic Aptitude Test, as well as with the academic performance obtained in introductorycourses and the third cycle of those careers. This project was done by using both, the statisticaltechnique of Analysis of Variance (anova) and the Turkey multiple comparisons test.
