El presente escrito revisará varios análisis teóricos y prácticos en torno al tema de la identidad cultural nacional, en especial cuando esta identidad se relaciona con la población migrante, y cuando esta identidad se ve cuestionada por el problema de la desigualdad socioeconómica. Se revisará una propuesta nueva sobre este tema proveniente del funcionalismo y el materialismo cultural, para concluir con algunas reflexiones sobre la necesidad de concretar una epistemología propia para abarcar este y otros temas de importancia para las ciencias sociales.
The present writing will go through various theoretical and practical analyses of the national cultural identity issues, particularly in terms of this identity’s relation to the migrant population, and when it is questioned by the problem of socio-economic inequality. A new proposal about this subject, which will be rooted from functionalism and cultural materialism, will be revised. Finally, this writing will conclude with some reflections on the need to define an own-Latin American epistemology that would include this and other relevant themes in the social sciences field.
