Description
De las aproximadamente 280 especies de libélulas (Odonata) presentes en Costa Rica, solamente 142 cuentan con su náyade descrita. Dos familias cuentan con todas sus náyades descritas, Calopterygidae y Cordulegastridae, y una no tiene ninguna especies descrita para el país, Platystictidae. El resto de las familias se encuentran en diferentes estados de conocimiento: Perilestidae, Protoneuridae y Corduliidae poseen una sola especie descrita; Polythoridae tiene tres; Pseudostigmatidae cuatro; Lestidae y Mega podagrionidae siete; Aeshnidae 16; Coenagrionidae 19; Gomphidae 20 y finalmente Libellulidae posee 55 especies descritas. Dichas especies son listadas junto con la referencia bibliográfica donde se encuentra su descripción
