Abstract
El objetivo del presente estudio fue comparar seis características relacionadas con la calidad del fruto, de 73 materiales de anona caracterizados en Costa Rica, contra los datos de referencia para el cultivar ‘Fino de Jete’, utilizados por el Banco Español de Germoplasma de Chirimoyo. Se analizaron de cinco a 10 frutos de cada uno de los materiales caracterizados, los cuales fueron recolectados en alguna de las ocho giras de prospección realizadas a las diferentes zonas productoras de anona en Costa Rica, durante el año 2001. Para cada uno de los materiales se analizó: peso del fruto en madurez de consumo, porcentaje de pulpa, índice de semillas, peso de una semilla, grados brix y tipo de piel. Con base en el presente estudio se determinó que en Costa Rica existe una amplia variabilidad en materiales de anona, entre ellos algunos con características sobresalientes en cuanto a calidad del fruto, principalmente en lo que se refiere a peso, tipo de piel e índice de semillas.
The objective of the present work was to make a comparison between 73 anona samples characterized in Costa Rica and the reference data for the cultivar ‘Fino de Jete’, utilized by the Spanish Cherimoya Germplasm Bank. Five to ten fruits of each sample were analyzed. The samples were collected in any of the eight prospection trips to different anona production areas in Costa Rica, during the year 2001. The characteristics analyzed for each of samples were: fruit weight at maturity, pulp percentage, seed index, seed weight, brix degrees and skin type. It can be concluded that Costa Rica possesses a wide variety of Annona cherimola germplasm, including some outstanding materials with respect to fruit quality, mainly fruit weight, skin type and seed index.
