Abstract
El objetivo de este artículo es analizar tres momentos que han sido claves en el desarrollo de
la profesión del violinista en Costa Rica. El método que se utilizó para dicho análisis es el cualitativo
descriptivo bajo los conceptos de campo y capital planteados por el sociólogo francés
Pierre Bourdieu, con el fin de evaluar el papel que tuvieron la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, el
Conservatorio Nacional de Música, y el Programa Juvenil de la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de
Costa Rica, en la institucionalización de la profesión del violinista.
The purpose of this article is to analyze three moments that have played a key role in the development of the violinist profession in Costa Rica. The method that was used to evaluate the role played by the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Conservatory of Music, and the Youth Program of the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica in the institutionalization of the violinist profession was a descriptive and qualitative analysis, guided by the concepts of field, and capital raised by the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu.
