Abstract
Los datos en una organización representan un activo estratégico que tiene valor, pero también su mayor fuente de riesgo, es por ello que el presente trabajo de investigación aplicada, comprende la creación de un modelo de gobierno de datos, a través de la identificación de los elementos funcionales y los componentes estratégicos, necesarios para su implementación.
Para el desarrollo del trabajo se llevó a cabo una investigación cualitativa, utilizando tanto fuentes primarias como secundarias, los colaboradores de la empresa y el marco de referencia DAMA–DMBOK, respectivamente. Para el proceso de recolección de información se utilizó la entrevista semiestructurada, aplicada a tres tipos de población con distintas características y en la cual se identificaron los elementos requeridos para la implementación de gobierno de datos, así como los principales beneficios de ejecutar el programa.
Finalmente, la propuesta contempla un modelo de gobierno de datos para la cadena de hipermercados y almacenes de comestibles, que apoya la gestión de la información y maximiza el proceso de toma de decisiones en la organización y así reducir el riesgo por el uso de datos incorrectos.
In a company, data means a strategic asset that has value; at the same time it can be the greatest source of risk. For this reason, the present research work includes the creation of a data governance model, through the identification of the functional elements and the strategic components that are necessary for its implementation. For the development of the final work, a qualitative research was carried out, using primary sources who were the company's collaborators and as secondary sources, the frame DAMA - DMBOK. For the collection of information, the semi-structured interview was used, applied to three types of population with different characteristics and in which the elements required for the implementation of data governance and the main benefits of executing the program were identified. Finally, the proposal contemplates a data governance model for a chain of hypermarkets and grocery stores, which supports information management, maximizes the decisionmaking process in the organization and reduces the risk due to the use of incorrect data.
