DISPLASIA GÁSTRICA , EXPERIENCIA EN EL HOSPITAL SAN JUAN DE DIOS 2004-2008.

Abstract

The gastric epithelial dysplasia is a precursor lesion for the development of gastric carcinoma, wich makes it a very important pathology to evaluate in the general population, hystorically there's been diferent attempts to standardize the classification and management, but without reaching a general consensus internationally. There is an special importance in the evidence herein described, wich envelops the experience in the San Juan de Dios Hospital and how it demonstrates that there is a need for both public and institutional politics to be able to make a significant impact in the suvival rates of this patients.

La displasia epitelial gástrica es una lesión precursora para la aparición de cáncer gástrico, motivo que la vuelve una patología muy importante de identificar en la población, sin embargo históricamente se han planteado diferentes métodos de clasificación y manejo, sin existir aún un consenso internacional. Toma especial importancia la evidencia descrita en el presente estudio sobre la experiencia del Hospital San Juan de Dios (HSJD) y cómo los hallazgos evidencian que aún se necesitan políticas, tanto institucionales como nacionales, para poder generar un impacto real en la sobrevida de los pacientes.
