La herencia de un traductor: Ricardo Fernández Guardia

Abstract

A manera de resumen se presenta en este texto una revisión del libro Costa Rica en el Siglo XIX: Antología de viajeros, obra compilada y traducida por Ricardo Fernández Guardia. Este libro tiene un aporte importante, pues se considera fundamental en muchos de los análisis históricos del país. De allí, la necesidad de mostrar estos datos, no solo para resaltar la herencia que deja un traductor/a con su trabajo sino también para observar datos interesantes en relación con las distintas ediciones del mismo libro.As a summary, this text presents a review about Costa Rica en el Siglo XIX: Antología de viajeros, collection of notes written by others; gathered and translated by Ricardo Fernández Guardia. This book has a relevant contribution since it is included in many historical analysis in our country. For this reason, I felt the necessity of presenting this information, not only to highlight a translator ́s legacy with his/her work but also to observe some interesting aspects regarding the differences between the different editions of the same book.
