Juan Santamaría International Airport Rehabilitation Alternatives

Abstract

El objetivo de este informe es realizar un análisis de las condiciones actuales de la pista del aeropuerto, las vías de rodaje y los pavimentos de las áreas de las puertas, para proponer algunas alternativas de rehabilitación del pavimento. El propósito es diseñar un pavimento estructuralmente adecuado, capaz de soportar la carga futura estimada hasta el año 2010. Con respecto al análisis de datos de laboratorio, fue posible obtener información de JAICA (Agencia de Cooperación Internacional de Japón) y OACI (Organización Internacional de Aviación Civil), pero no fue posible recopilar información sobre trabajos de rehabilitación anteriores, trabajos de ampliación o planos constructivos.The objective of this report is to perform a current condition analysis for the airport runway, taxi way and gate areas pavements, in order to propose some pavement rehabilitation alternatives. The goal is to design a structurally adequate pavement, able to withstand the estimated future load until year 2010. Regarding the laboratory data analysis, it was possible to obtain information from the JAICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and the OACI (International Organization of Civil Aviation), but it was not possible to gather information on previous rehabilitation works, expansion works, or construction blue prints.
