Diseño del espacio de exhibición de orquídeas del Jardín Botánico Lankester

Abstract

La presente investigación artística, titulada: Diseño del espacio de exhibición de orquídeas del Centro de Investigación Jardín Botánico Lankester, se desarrolló con el fin de obtener el grado académico de Maestría Profesional en Artes Visuales. Su elaboración se fundamenta en una propuesta nueva de diseño del espacio del área de exhibición de orquídeas del Centro de Investigación Jardín Botánico Lankester. Se confeccionaron diseños de jardines verticales para los muros del espacio, y también, el diseño de una fuente de agua, lámparas de jardín y el portón principal del área, todos ellos basados en las formas de las especies de plantas del Centro de Investigación. La investigación propone el uso de los conceptos del Art Nouveau desde la manifestación artística en sí, y su relación con el paisajismo, todo adaptado a las particularidades de nuestro país, específicamente en la zona de Dulce Nombre, en la provincia de Cartago, sitio donde se ubican el Centro de Investigación Jardín Botánico Lankester y el Espacio de Exhibición de Orquídeas. El objetivo es crear un diseño basado en las formas de la naturaleza, integradas a la arquitectura del espacio y sus interiores.

The present artistic research was developed to obtain the degree of Professional Master’s in Visual Arts with the title "Design of the Orchid Exhibition Space of the Lankester Botanical Garden Research Center." The research was based on the development of a new design proposal for the space of the Lankester Botanical Garden Research Center's orchid display area. Vertical garden designs were created for the walls of the space, a water fountain design, garden lamp designs, and the main gate of the area, all inspired by the shapes of plant species of the Research Center. The research proposes the use of Art Nouveau concepts from the artistic manifestation itself and its relationship with landscaping, adapted to the particularities of our country, in Dulce Nombre, Cartago, where the Lankester Botanical Garden Research Center and the Orchid Exhibition Space are located. The goal is to create a design that integrates the forms of nature into the architecture of the space and its interiors.
