Abstract
In this work is recorded Brooksithrips chamaedorea Retana-Salazar & Mound 2005 in Mexico. The general distribution of the species is recorded and associated with the host-plants distribution and is show the collect in undetermined host-plants an unusual fact in this species. The intrapopulation variability is recorded and do not affect the diagnostic characters of the species. Phylogeny of the host-plants is discussed and its relation with the parasite species. More studies are needed about thrips species to correct mistakes in conclusions of some alpha taxonomists about species variability and species boundaries.
