Resumen
El Trabajo de Investigación Aplicada titulado “Atrapados: plataforma serious
game para un nuevo modelo de Educación Vial en Costa Rica” es un desarrollo
interactivo que se enfoca en replantear la movilidad urbana desde edades
tempranas en la población de la congestionada zona de la Gran Área
Metropolitana.
Atrapados es una progressive web app que busca incentivar, en los niños y
las niñas de sexto grado de primaria, una cultura vial basada en los pilares de la
Educación Vial, de manera que obtengan una visión de la movilidad urbana que
centralice al ser humano, su calidad de vida y su seguridad.
Para ello, se utilizan los serious games que cuenta con recursos lúdicos
atractivos para esta población, al mismo tiempo que fomenta el aprendizaje de
nuevos conceptos de una forma entretenida, rápida y que permite una mayor
retención en las mentes de las personas usuarias.
A través del juego, el usuario debe de poner en práctica los conceptos de
Educación Vial en diferentes segmentos para poder avanzar a las etapas
posteriores del juego. Esto acompañado de una estructura narrativa que aporta al
componente inmersivo propio de los videojuegos.
Como un fin mayor, la propuesta busca ser un referente en cuanto a nuevas
formas de atacar problemas sociales complejos, en edades tempranas y mediante
el uso de tecnologías que se adecuen a las nuevas generaciones y los entornos
digitales.
The Applied Research Work proposal entitled “Atrapados: Serious Game platform for a new model of Road Education in Costa Rica” is an interactive development focused on presenting a re-planning of urban mobility from an early age in the population of the congested area of the Greater Metropolitan Area. Atrapados is a progressive web app that seeks to encourage sixth-year school boys and girls the generation of a road culture based on the pillars of Road Safety Education. So that they can have a vision of urban mobility that places the human being, their quality of life, and their safety at the center. For this, the Serious Games tool is used, which have attractive recreational resources for this population at the same time that they promote the learning of new concepts in an entertaining, fast way and with a greater permanence in time in the minds of the users. Through the game, the user must put into practice the concepts of Road Safety Education in different segments to be able to advance to the later stages of the game. All this spun from a narrative structure that contributes to the immersive component typical of video games. As a greater purpose, the proposal seeks to be a benchmark in terms of new ways of attacking complex social problems, at an early age and along with the use of technologies that are adapted to the new generations and digital environments.
