Introduction: Abuse constitutes the daily life of many families, women and children around the world, the focus of this integrative review is to investigate by means of a literature review the types of fetal abuse reported in the literature, with the aim of suppressing this practice. In the first instance, the types of fetal maltreatment reported are studied to account for the actions that citizens can consider contributing to the eradication of perinatal violence. Methods: The methodology applied corresponded to an integrative review of the literature, the collection of this information was carried out by means of exhaustive searches in the following databases: Scopus, Pubmed (Medline), Wiley, Springer Link, ProQuest Central and EbscoHost. Inclusion criteria considered for the above are bibliography available in English and Spanish, qualitative and quantitative scientific articles and theses, studies that have investigated fetal abuse, fetal violence, perinatal abuse, socio-cultural factors that encourage perinatal abuse among others, the temporality of these should be between 2015 and 2022 (date of publication), bibliography from any country will be admitted in the population of bibliographic documents. This search retrieved a total of 16 articles which were critically and systematically analyzed. Results: The study of two categories results from the investigation, in category one called: Perspectives of the authors regarding the definitions related to fetal abuse. In category two called: associations to terms related to fetal abuse and its effects on the fetus and the mother, the subcategories identified are conceptual associations of fetal abuse according to causality and consequences for the fetus and the mother. Conclusions: It was concluded that fetal maltreatment continues to affect many women and children around the world. The lack and approach to health centers, mainly in developing countries where their socio-cultural levels are not yet fully stable, are drivers of many families and women not approaching to request the corresponding help, in addition, promoting awareness from the perspective of health personnel towards these people generates a significant advance in terms of rights and the mitigation of abuse in all its forms.
