Direct, Scielo, SAGE, Pub Med.
del Centre for Evidence - Based Medicine de Oxford.
Introduction: Children with disabilities face a great challenge for their access to education in equal conditions with other minors without such condition, they face specific health care needs in the classroom, health care to access their right to education as all schoolchildren. Nursing professionals have the professional profile to offer schoolchildren with disabilities access to health care and disease prevention, which are fundamental for their development while accessing their right to education. The objective of this investigation is to analyze the best available scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of the participation of pediatric nurses in special education centers to prevent health complications and enhance the development of students. Method: This is an umbrella-type systematic review. Studies published between 2017 to 2022 were employed using MesH and DeCS terms in: Science Direct, Scielo, SAGE, PubMed. Studies addressing the intervention of Nursing professionals with children with disabilities in a school setting were included. Those in English, Spanish and Portuguese were included. Results: 1250 research articles were identified. After applying the appropriateness filters, 8 articles were included for critical analysis evaluation in FLC 3.0, CASPe and JBI. In the end, 6 studies with the best scientific evidence according to methodological quality and only 4 research articles were included after giving a hierarchical value to the evidence using the proposal of the Centre for EvidenceBased Medicine of Oxford. Conclusions: The evidence shows that the nursing professional is ideal to identify risk, intervene in a timely manner and limit risk through their participation and evaluation in the educational environment. Interventions of nursing professionals with pets have shown a positive impact on the decrease of stress and anxiety levels of children with disabilities in the classroom, with a consequent impact on their overall development. School Nursing staff are responsible for the administration of increasingly complex medications in classrooms, to support the comprehensive health of students in the school environment. There is evidence on the impact of the interventions of these professionals on educational permanence and prevention of school dropout in boys and girls with disabilities.
