| dc.description.abstract | El experimento se realizó en el Centro Regional de Occidente, universidad de Costa Rica, ubicado en Tacares de Grecia, Alajuela. Se evaluaron los cambios de coloración de las vainas (valvas, sutura y funículo) del tegumento y del área alrededor del hilium, además del peso y porcentaje de humedad de los granos. El objetivo fue determinar un método práctico para determinar la madurez fisiológica de la semilla a nivel de campo. Sólo los cambios en la coloración del grano y valvas se correlacionaron gráficamente con el período de madurez fisiológica de la semilla. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | The trial was conducted at the Western Regional Center of the University of Costa Rica, located in 'Tacares de Grecia', Costa Rica. Besides the weight and the humidity content of the seeds, the evaluation comprised the color changes of the pods (valves, suture and funiculus), the tegument and the area around the hilum. The main objective was to settle a practical method for determining the physiological maturity of the seed on the field. Only the color changes of the grains and valves correlated graphically to the period of physiological maturity of the seed. | en_US |
