Objetivos del Milenio y Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible: ¿de lo difícil a lo imposible?

Abstract

De ocho objetivos de desarrollo propuestos en el año 2000 para 2015, se busca ahora pasar a diecisiete para el 2030, la mayoría de ellos relacionados con la sostenibilidad. Si los primeros ocho solo en parte se han cumplido, los nuevos y más numerosos tienen el problema adicional de ambigüedad en los término e incluso posibles choques entre unos y otros. Nos proponemos mostrar problemas de consistencia y coherencia en la lista que se propone y que resultan, en particular, de aplicar el término “sostenible” a tantas y tan variadas actividades que el significado acaba diluyéndose.

From eight development goals proposed in 2000 for 2015, the proposal now is to set seventeen goals for 2030,most of them related to sustainability. If we are far from seeing the eight original goals fulfilled, the new and more numerous ones may have the additional problem of ambiguity in the terms and possible conflicts among them. We try to show consistency and coherence problems in the new list, resulting in particular from the application of the qualification of “sustainable” to so many and so different areas of human activity that the meaning of the term is lost .
