Evaluación de treinta y dos genotipos de maní (Arachis hipogaea) en el trópico húmedo de Costa Rica

Abstract

En Turrialba, se evaluaron 32 genotipos de maní procedentes del ‘International Crops Research Instituto for the Semi-Arid Tropics’ (1CRISAT), para observar su comportamiento y seleccionar los materiales con mayor rendimiento y mejor aspecto de grano. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques completos al azar con cuatro repeticiones. El rendimiento promedio de los 32 genotipos fue de 3523 k de grano/ha; la mayoría de ellos tuvieron entre 40 y 45 cápsulas/planta ; la relación grano/cápsula varió de 70 a 78%. Aunque la variación en rendimiento de grano entre la mayoría de genotipos no fue significativa, sobresalieron por su rendimiento buenas características de grano y bajo daño por Cercospora sp., el ICGS(E)-2, Robust33-1, ICGS(E)-8, ICGS(E) e ICGS(E)-5.

Thirty two peanut genotypes, supplied by the ‘International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics’ (ICRISAT), were tested in order to observe their performance and to select the cultivars with highest yields and best grain characteristics in Turrialba, Costa Rica. A Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications was used. The average yield of the 32 genotypes was 3523 kg of grain/ha. Most of them produced from 40 to 45 pods/plant and the grain/pod ratio varied from 70 to 78%. Although the grain yield variation was not significant among most of the genotypes, some with outstanding yields, with good grain quality and lesser damage by Cercospora sp. were: ICGS (E) – 2, Robust 33 – 1, ICGS (E) – 8, ICGS (E)- 15 and ICGS (E) – 5.
