Paternidad y derechos sexuales: tendencias actuales sobre el ejercicio de la paternidad: una revisión integrativa

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo indagar y describir las tendencias con respecto al ejercicio de la paternidad a partir de la evidencia científica que reseña la literatura, partiendo de los derechos sexuales y reproductivos como parte esencial del desarrollo integral de los seres humanos, y de la paternidad como elemento modulador de la masculinidad. Debido a la escasa información sobre el fenómeno, y con el fin de lograr una visión global del mismo, la investigación se realizó siguiendo la metodología de la revisión integrativa planteada por Whittemore, ya que esta permite ahondar el estado actual de los conocimientos sobre un fenómeno determinado facilitando tanto la implementación de intervenciones efectiva como la identificación de las lagunas de información. De igual manera, esta metodología permite la recolección y revisión de la información de diversos estudios, potenciando por lo tanto la profundidad de la investigación y la amplitud de las conclusiones que se alcancen. Con el fin de mantener un rigor metodológico tanto en la recolección de la información como en su organización se utilizó el instrumento propuesto por la Red Internacional de Enfermería en Salud Ocupacional (REDENSO Internacional), el cual contiene información sobre los artículos recopilados, como por ejemplo: autores, año de publicación y otras características metodológicas. De una identificación inicial de 5566 publicaciones se terminaron incluyendo 36 artículos los cuales fueron codificados y de los cuales surgieron las categorías de análisis. Con respecto al ejercicio de la paternidad se observa el involucramiento paterno durante el embarazo, en el proceso de parto y en las actividades de cuido y crianza, tendencia que se caracteriza por el deseo de estar presente y de manifestarse afectivamente, así como de una cercanía emociona y un desligue de la figura autoritaria tradicional. Se destaca la necesidad de programas y políticas que faciliten el involucramiento paterno. Así mismo es necesario reforzar la línea de investigación que atañe la salud andrológica, siendo esta un eje de la maestría en Enfermería Ginecológica, Obstétrica y Perinatal.The present work aims to investigate and describe the tendencies regarding the exercise of paternity based on the scientific evidence documented in literature, taking in consideration sexual and reproductive rights as an essential part of the integral development of human beings, and fatherhood as a modulating element of masculinity. Due to the lack of information and in order to achieve a global vision of the phenomenon, the investigation was carried out following the methodology of the integrative review proposed by Whittemore, since this allows to deepen the current state of knowledge about a phenomenon, facilitating both the implementation of effective interventions and the identification of information gaps. What is more, this methodology allows the recollection and review of information from various studies, thereby enhancing the depth of the research and the scope of the conclusions reached. In order to maintain methodological rigor both in the collection of information as well as in its organization, the instrument proposed by the International Network of Occupational Health Nursing (International REDENSO) was used. This instrument contains information on the collected articles, such as: authors, year of publication and other methodological characteristics. From an initial identification of 5566 publications, only 36 articles were included and were codified and from which the analysis categories emerged. With regard to the exercise of paternity, paternal involvement is observed during early pregnancy stages, in the process of childbirth and in care and parenting activities, a tendency that is characterized by the desire to be present and to express itself emotionally, as well as the desire of expressing emotional closeness and a detachment from the traditional authoritarian figure. The study shows the need for programs and policies that facilitate parental involvement. Likewise, it is necessary to reinforce the line of research that concerns andrological health, bearing in mind that it is an axis of the master's degree in Gynecological, Obstetric and Perinatal Nursing
