The association of efficacy expectations and task value with academic performance in engineering and science students, in this research was done in three stages, first, 10 cognitive interviews were conducted to improve the understanding of the scale and writing of an achievement motivation scale that had items of efficacy expectations and task values of Safavian (2019), the scale was translated and 4 new cost value items were developed, since it only had one cost value item, followed by a pilot test with 128 students of the Calculus I course for health sciences, in which an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was done. Finally, a final application was made to 428 students in which the data was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM), three models were analyzed, in addition, an invariance analysis was done by gender to compare the populations of men and women. The results obtained from the data show that there are differences between men and women in the latent variable intrinsic value.
