Abstract

For families, the diagnosis of autism implies an impact on the emotional, economic, relationship, mental health, among others, which without adequate support can lead to the breakdown of this very fundamental social unit. The family-centered care approach seeks to improve the quality of life at both the family and individual level, by establishing forms of intervention that consider the learning context that surrounds the child, the family and its structure, as well as the needs that each one presents.
