Twenty five bush bean cultivars (14 red, 11 black) were tested in association with sugar cane (cultivar B-50-377) in Grecia, Costa Rica. The trial was conducted over the dry season, from February 8 through May 17th, 1982, with surface irrigation. The bean cultivars were planted 15 days after the sugar cane harvest, using a triple balanced lattice design. There were no significant differences between the yieldsof the cultivars wich ranged from 373 to 762 kg/ha.
